About Our Services

What does ‘Viyula’ mean?

The name comes from Vivian and Ula, the two founders. The ‘Y’ in the middle represents you — our valued clients. Together, it symbolises harmony, connection, and the beautiful energy shared in every treatment.

What sets Viyula apart from other massage spas?

Viyula is run by two passionate therapists who treat every client like family. Our personalised approach, calming environment, and blend of Eastern and Western techniques ensure a truly restorative experience.

Where are you located?

We’re conveniently located in Darwin City at 306/31 Smith Street. There’s easy access with nearby street parking and shops, making it simple to drop in for your appointment.

Do you offer treatments for first-time clients or tourists?

Absolutely. Whether you're visiting Darwin or trying massage therapy for the first time, we’ll guide you through the process and help you choose the right treatment for your needs. Everyone is welcome!

Booking & Appointments

How can I book an appointment?

You can book online through our website, by phone during our opening hours. We recommend booking in advance, especially for evening sessions.

Do you accept same-day bookings?

Yes, same-day appointments are welcome if we have availability. Give us a call to check what’s open or try booking online for instant confirmation.

Do I need to book in advance or can I walk in?

We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time, but walk-ins are welcome if we have availability. To avoid disappointment, especially on weekends, it’s best to book online or give us a quick call.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens — we get it! Just let us know at least 24 hours in advance so we can adjust your booking. Late cancellations may incur a small fee to cover our therapist’s time.

Health Fund Rebates

Do you offer health fund rebates?

Yes, we provide health fund rebates for remedial massage treatments. Just let us know your fund at the time of booking and we’ll ensure you’re booked with a qualified therapist.

Which health funds do you work with?

We support most major Australian health funds, including Bupa, HCF, Medibank, AHM, NIB, and more. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us and we’ll check your eligibility.

Can I claim my rebate on the spot?

Yes, we offer on-the-spot claiming through HICAPS. Simply bring your health fund card to your appointment and we’ll process it for you straight away.

What if I forget my health fund card?

No worries — you can still pay in full and we’ll provide a receipt that you can submit manually to your health fund for reimbursement.

Before Your Visit

What should I wear to my massage or beauty appointment?

Just wear something comfortable! You’ll be given privacy to change if needed, and we’ll use towels and draping to ensure you feel relaxed and secure at all times.

Can I eat or drink before my massage?

A light snack is fine, but we recommend avoiding large meals or caffeine right before your session to ensure you’re comfortable during treatment.

Should I arrive early for my appointment?

Yes — arriving 5 minutes early helps us start on time and gives you a moment to unwind, enjoy a refreshment, and fill out any necessary forms if it’s your first visit.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Just yourself and your health fund card if claiming a rebate. If it’s your first visit, you might also like to bring a list of any current concerns or areas you’d like us to focus on.

Aftercare & Results

What should I do after my massage or treatment?

After your session, we recommend drinking plenty of water, taking it easy, and allowing your body time to rest. This helps flush out toxins and enhances the benefits of your treatment.

How soon will I notice results?

Some clients feel immediate relief, while others notice gradual improvement over a few sessions. Consistency and communication with your therapist help achieve the best outcomes.

Is it normal to feel sore or tired after a massage?

Yes, especially after a deep tissue or remedial massage. Mild soreness or fatigue is common and should pass within 24–48 hours. It’s a sign your body is healing and adjusting.

Can I go back to the gym or work right after?

If it’s a light relaxation massage — yes. But for remedial work, we suggest waiting at least a few hours or even a day before intense physical activity to let your body recover fully.
